Are you really in the DCP if you don’t buy your (sister’s) dog a Disney harness?
It’s been kinda busy, so this is going to be a two week update rather than just a week!
I’m skipping the 28th, because all I really did was work. A couple of weeks ago, they released some new treats in Magic Kingdom, and I just happened to be going there with a coworker on my day off (March 1st). She likes to go around and try the different foods, so we went to the spring roll cart in Adventureland and I got cheeseburger spring rolls (which were surprisingly good) and then later we tried the Frog Prince Whoopie Pies, and those were really cute! We rode a bunch of rides, and we watched the fireworks.
I was also off March 2nd, but it was basically just a day to relax. I went to Cracker Barrel with Sarah because she really wanted pancakes, she didn’t order pancakes, and then we came home and I went to Cast Connections with a coworker. I had FastPasses for Epcot, but I really wanted to stay home, so I did. I’ve been going to the parks and everything a lot lately, so it was good to stay home for a day.
On March 3rd I worked, so I would skip it, BUT a friend from Miami (Luis) came to visit me for a few days and he fixed my car that day. He met me in Epcot after work, then we went and picked up my Universal pass (parking is free after 6), and then it was time to deal with the car. The battery died a week before (?), so it was just sitting in Chatham until he got here. Jumping it didn’t work because the battery was completely dead, so he actually had to take it out of the car and then take me to get a new one and put it back in. My car is doing great now, and hopefully it stays that way.
This was my first (full) day with Luis, and we went to Hollywood Studios. We went to the Frozen Sing-a-Long, met BB8, went to Muppet Vision and the Indiana Jones Stunt show, rode Star Tours, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, and Tower of Terror. We did a lot that day, and ended on the Star Wars fireworks because I hadn’t seen them yet.
On Tuesday, we went to Universal! We rode the Simpson’s Ride and then I saw a very familiar looking house so we wandered over to investigate. It was Sirius’s house, and it was right next to Diagon Alley. We went to Olivander’s and did the wand experience, I bought an interactive Luna Lovegood wand, and we went to Fred and George’s shop! We rode the Escape from Gringots ride, and then we left the Harry Potter section of the park to go to The Mummy and the new (?) Fast and Furious Ride. After that we moved from the Diagon Alley area of the park to Hogsmead via the Hogwarts Express, and went on the Forbidden Journey ride in the Castle. After that we left Harry Potter for good and went to ride the Hulk (we rode it twice), and the Tower of Doom (not really impressive after Tower of Terror). We walked around the City Walk for a while after that, and then we went to a ramen place called Naroodle. It’s a Naruto themed noodle shop that I guess is kinda new, and it was cool! I actually saw people I’m friends with on Facebook sharing posts about it a couple of days after we went, so that was neat.
On Wednesday I had work, but one of my friends got me Starbucks so that was really nice. I got off relatively early, so I went to Magic Kingdom with my friends and we managed to get on The Seven Dwarves Mine Train and Big Thunder before it was time to go. It was cold, so we weren’t upset that we weren’t at a the park for long.
Thursday was another work day, but I got to see Steve Augeri from Journey after! He was here for the beginning of the International Flower and Garden Festival, and it was really cool. I went with a friend from work and we saw him and then wandered around and tried some of the new festival food and drinks. After that I went to another friend’s apartment for face masks and a movie. I’ve officially seen What a Girl Wants.
The next few days were work days, but they weren’t bad. Then on Sunday I switched end times with someone and got to go see Captain Marvel! It was a nice change to leave a Marvel movie feeling like I knew more than I did when I got there, rather than less. After the movie, I packed up my stuff because I VISITED HOME!
I had work on Monday from 11-3:30, and then I caught a plane to Dallas. It was a little bit stressful, but it was definitely worth it. Especially since Sheryl and Hayden brought Dottie to the airport to get me! I was not expecting to see her, and she certainly wasn’t expecting to see me. After that we went to Buc-ee’s and In-N-Out Burger, and then we headed home to sleep. It was a long day for everyone.
On Tuesday, Georgia brought me Cane’s (the closest Cane’s to where I am in Florida is like 400 miles away or something ridiculous), I got a haircut, shopped a little bit, and hung out with Dottie. Mom made dinner and then Georgia came over (with cherry cobbler) and we watched Into the Spiderverse with Emily and Hayden. It was sooo nice to be home and see everyone. And I really missed Dottie after being with her all last semester.
Wednesday I went to Don Jose’s for lunch with Georgia, Dakota and Ana, and then it was back home to say bye to Dad before he went back to work. After that I packed my stuff and that I basically napped/cuddled with the dog until Mom got home. Aunt Mo came over to come with Mom, and we were off to DFW around 4. My flight was delayed, but I made it back to my apartment by about 2am and passed out. It wasn’t a long trip, but I’m glad I got to visit home. It’s the middle of my program, so it was good to get out of Orlando for a couple of days.
