How many days of work in a row?!
Thursday felt like the longest day ever. It was 10.5 hours, my last day in the nine day streak of working days, AND I had to clean the back of Nieco, aka the burger broiler. It was my least favorite thing so far.
Friday was good though! My roommate Shannon and I went to Magic Kingdom, and we met the Suffragettes on Main Street, I went to Be Our Guest for lunch, and we hit most of the major attractions. I went on Prince Charming’s Royal Carousel and saw Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and then I met up with Shannon in Adventureland. We went to Tom Sawyer’s Island and watched the Festival of Fantasy there (with the fire breathing Maleficent), and then we went to Pirates of the Caribbean and Thunder Mountain. We had some downtime in-between fast passes, so we rode Haunted Mansion and then went back to ride Splash Mountain, where we saw our other roommate at work! Next we had a fast pass for Space Mountain, so we went there and then we got Mickey Pretzels. After that, we rode The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and then walked to the Seven Dwarves Mine Train. We got on the ride at 8:05, so we actually saw the Happily Ever After fireworks from the ride. After that we rode Under the Sea and the Mad Tea Party, watched the Once Upon a Time show, AND got cookies at the Confectionary (where we saw Meg, one of my sorority sisters!).
On Saturday, I went to Hollywood Studios with one of my coworkers. I finally got to ride Tower of Terror (and I loved it), and then we saw Muppet Vision 3D, and rode the Flying Saucers and Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land. We also got to see Fantasmic from really great seats. It was a good day!
I worked on Sunday, and honestly I wanted to go home. Home being Texas, not Chatham. We draw our closing positions from a bag so that it’s fair, which means that naturally I got the Nieco for the third time in a row. But whatever. I survived.
I had Monday off, so I got to shopping with Sarah and Vivian at World of Disney. I finished up souvenir shopping, we walked around Disney Springs, and went to lunch at Earl of Sandwich. After that, Sarah and I went to Cast Connections and I got Dottie a squeaky waffle toy (the best kind of toy) and a slightly broken Haunted Mansion snow globe. It ended up in Cast Connections because someone broke the bat off of it, and it cost me $10 for the snow globe and $3 for some super glue, and it’s as good as new. I really love it.
Tuesday I worked, and I got to close salads, so this week is already going better. Then today I got to leave before close! It was great. So I guess it’s looking up.
